I have just bought and installed Fs2002 professional edition,I would like more civil aircraft than the737,747 and777 that come with the package,or to have new liveries on them, also I would like a download of the Canary Islands, Can anyone help....
I am a novice with computers, I have downloaded and unzipped a Schiratti FSUIPC and Richard Barkers 757-236  British airways, But I can't seem to find it when I run the Flight sim,Please help......

Hi Andy, welcome to SimV. All the downloads here are freeware, on the front page you'll see on the left of the page a little box saying downloads, click on that and then scroll down and look at FS2002 lists to find all the planes you could want, and enough paint schemes to blow your mind.
I haven't seen any Canary Islands scenery, but if I do I'll post something here.
When adding software, what you have to do with FSUIPC is follow the instructions (unzip it in a temporary folder first).
With aircraft, unzip them, then add the 757-236 to the file fs2002/aircraft. It should look something like this
fs2002/aircraft/757 and within that directory you should find directories for panel, textures, sound etc and two files called aircraft.cfg and somethingorother (I can't remember its exact name).air
Now start FS2k2 and you'll be able to fly her.
There is also a tutorial available here on installing aircraft, that is worth reading.

Happy flying.

Hi Andy. I strongly suggest you visit the Simviation Help section. Tutes on most subjects are posted there which saves answering the same old questions over & over again in this forum.
These are the ones I think you will find most useful to start with.

http://www.simviation.com/lair/windows.htm

http://www.simviation.com/acinstall.htm

http://www.simviation.com/lair/Repaint2002.htm

If after reading them you still have problems the regulars here will be happy to help. Wink

Hi and welcome, Andy.

Good advise would be to start off slow. Go thru the lessons on the flight simulator, and get a good understanding of the aircraft and basic navigation. Read everything you can on this subject

Read everything you can about add on files before you attempt to install one. Also, a good, basic understanding of how the Flight Simulator files are set up on your computer, and the Windows filing system is very helpful.

Also, go thru the forum here and read some of the early posts. 9 times out of 10, you can find that answer that was in the back of your mind.

Notice a theme here......? READ, READ, READ!

Find the tutorials. Use the forums. And, take it slow. If this is your first go-around with this, it can be real confusing.

That's why these old-timers are here.  Grin
