Having just successfully installed CH Flight Sim Yoke USB and Pro Pedals USB for MS Flight Simulator 2002 I am now at a total loss as to how to configure the buttons for the various functions and above all how to save the settings.
MS has instructions for keyboard and joystick - none of which apply to the Yoke or Pedals.
I have been to CH's KB which is more than useless. And yet, everybody else seems to have dealt with this issue quite happily.
Any advice would be gratefully received.

There is an MS page for this sort of problem http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;317830

Hope this helps

Boris G Thanks for your reply. I am sure you are on the right track. But could you perhaps explain in more detail in your own language. Thanks.

ozzy Thanks for your response. However, neither the MS page you recommend nor any of the others apply. In fact, the MS Knowledge Base seems to have nothing on my particular problem.

Okay, here's what I did . . .

FS decides that your pedals and yoke need assigned buttons, right?

Go into the settings area of your main FS2002 ui (user interface) and go to controls/assignments.  There you should find a pull-down menu that contains both the yoke and pedals.  Select the yoke, scroll down the list of commands and double-click on the one you want to change.  Press the button on the yoke that you want assigned to this function and PRESTO! you now have a reassigned button.

Did this help?  I hope so Wink

Hi Ender Baron - Thanks for your reply. In fact, I managed to get there in the end, ie Yoke and Pedals are finally doing what they are supposed to be doing. What threw me was that FS2002 initially reverted to default settings after rebooting, but that's been sorted.
