Dee Waldron's DC-8 freighter is the best model I have seen of that aircraft type.  The problem, however, is that the aircraft is not flyable because the auto throttle does not function, regardless of what panel I use.  I have stuck with panels designed for fs2002.  Does anyone have any suggestions?  I really want to fly this aircraft..........

I'm in the middle of a full P.C. re-install at the moment and I'm nowhere near getting FS2002 back on yet, so I'm working from memory here,

If you open the aircraft.cfg and work your way down it, I'm fairly sure that there's an entry for Autothrottle.

It says something like "Autothrottle available" or "AT available" ....or "enabled"...something like that, and sounds as though it will be followed by an "=0" after it in your aircraft's case.

Chenge it to "=1".

Check the other entries near that - I can't recall if there's anything else you need to alter as well, but try that. It may well achieve what you're hoping for.

Thanks for the suggestion!  I have never tried to open a .CFG file.   What program or application is used to open it, or must this be done in MS-DOS mode?

You can open aircraft.cfg files in notepad.
