actually on second thought, you could temporayly remove the "fx_contrails. . .  .fx" files out of the effects folder, but i am not sure if the sim would be stable

you could also try editing the "fx_contrails. . .  .fx" files, to change them to a higher altitude

Greetings,

As with other "fx" effect files, if the SIM can't find the file nothing bad happens, the effect just doesn't appear...

With Windows set to "see all files" go into the effects folder and rename the contrail fx files by inserting "ZZ" between the "t" and "r"... they won't be used by the SIM, they will stay together in the effects folder, and can be easily changed back..

Regards,

JR
