Greetings!
This is my first post, so please be gentle with me Smiley

None of the jets I have imported into CFS2 are showing up. I downloaded the lear45 pack, but it only contained sound files. Can anyone tell me how to make them show up. All the prop aircraft I've imported work just fine. I'm new at all this flight sim stuff and have a limited understanding, so I could be doing something simple wrong.
Thanks For Your Help. Harvardfan

The Lear45 is a dummy "converter" folder for 3rd party aircraft & used for aliasing to. Install it to CFS2\AIRCRAFT in the same way as you would an aircraft. Then those jets aliased to the Lear45 sound should show on the menu. This is a quick & convenient way to check out jets posted without their own sound files. You can find & install more suitable sound for them later if you wish. Alternatively, you could replace the Sound folder of all problem jets with the one in the Lear45 folder. This article explains the aliasing principle.

I had a similar problem but I have fs 2k, and I imported all the guages and aircraft into cfs 2 and now everything I try shows up, although there is still the oddball that shows up now and then. My problem is with some attitude guages that tilt to the right when flying straight and level, and even though I make sure the batt/alt/gen switches are on, I loose power and can't use flaps or the landing gear -- so it is into the drink when that happens!

Lew. It should not be necessary to import all FS2000 default aircraft & gauges for jets to work in CFS2. You should bear in mind that CFS2 has no default jet & was not really intended for them. It's possible that some 3rd party aircraft (including jets) intended for FS98/FS2000 will not be fully compatible but I have yet to find one. It might depend on the type of jet you're using & I have not tried too many airliners or civil types. Most people use miltary jets in CFS2.

PS. Some 3rd party gauges designed for the earlier sims are not compatible with CFS2 & either don't display properly or will not function correctly. In this case, replace the gauge(s) or find a more suitable panel.

Greetings again!
Thank you all for taking the time to reply.

My first problem was that my F-80 folder was inside another folder with the same title. Once I opened it and moved the inside folder to my "aircraft" folder it showed up.
My second problem was with aliasing. I didn't have the same sound file. I was trying to import the SR-71 and it uses the 737 sound files.

Which leads me to my next question. I own a copy of FS2002. Can I import those airctaft directly?

Glad you fixed the problem. It's quite straightforward once you understand the principle.

No. For various reasons files for later sims are not usually suitable for previous ones. The FS2002 default aircraft are not compatible with CFS2.

I know it wasn't necessary but I wanted to be able to use all the planes, and also after I did the Helicopters appeared (I couldn't get the bell default to appear in cfs2 until I overwrote the guages) also I like having alot of guages to use for the panels I creat and modify with the panel studio
