Hi there,
I've recently created an airport next to existing one with all the sceneries as I liked using FS Scenery creator program. But when I start, my AI traffic planes come to starting position of runway and keep stranded forever. What have I missed? Can anyone help.
Also can anyone tell me how will I edit an existing FS2002 airport and add my own scrnery.

Hi pilot-2 and welcome to the forum.

Did you produce an AFCAD file for your new airport? The AI traffic won;t use it or even recognise it's existance without the information being updated.

You can use FS Scenery creator to add items of scenery to existing stuff as well as creating new places. As you appear to have a working understanding of that, I'd do that.

Hi,
First of all thanks for your quick response.
Yes, I created the AFCAD file and also added taxiways using AFCAD utility. The taxiways, parkings etc are all working fine. I also added communication frequencies, those are also getting tuned even progressive taxi is also shown. But as AI planes get on the runway, they get stranded to their place. I am using saperate runways for landing and takeoff's. I had put localizers and glide paths for takeoff and landings runways respectively. But I cannot understand why the aircrafts dont take off. When I come on the runway, I get the option of tuning the tower and then request for takeoff clearence which I get after requesting. Please help.

I'm afraid that in the field of AI traffic, your own knowledge far exceeds mine. Someone else may be able to help though.

Sorry.

OK, you are using AFCAD and well, i don't use it often, i really don't. I trust you read the Readme.html in which case you must have missed something....

This is what belong is the file ( guys, i had doubt posting this because the copyright said:AFCAD and this document may not be distributed for commercial purposes or posted in the public domain without the author’s consent.)

AI get stuck at a hold short point and don't move
This will happen if a hold short node is too far from the edge of the runway. The hold short nodes should be no farther than 225 feet (68.6 m) from the runway edge. If AI get stuck when they line up behind an aircraft at a hold short point, then placing a normal node just behind the hold short node will usually fix this. (see Hold Short Node Limits).

AI get stuck on the runway preparing for takeoff
This can happen if there is no hold short node for the taxiway connection to the runway.

AI don't stop at a hold short point

The hold short node is probably too close to the runway, or is actually on the runway.

Hope that helped Smiley
