hello everybody, i have been around this forum and other forums trying to understand some settings in the cfg, for days, and i still can not get the point. maybe someone could help me.

i got a quite good rig, a quadcore, 8gig of ram, and a gtx 295.

i can play with bloom (lowered quality tweak + shader 3.0 forced) and quite high graphic settings, with a solid 30fps.

the point is that when i fly with a f18 the ground textures cant load fast enough.

i know it has something to do with the following settings, i write what i am using:

[BufferPools]
UsePools=1
PoolSize=8388608
RejectThreshold=131072

[GRAPHICS]
TEXTURE_MAX_LOAD=1024

[Main]
FIBER_FRAME_TIME_FRACTION=0.15

[Display]
TextureMaxLoad=9
TEXTURE_BANDWIDTH_MULT=120

i dont have nothing more relted to textures.
What should i do to make textures load faster?
thanks in advance for any help!!!

I think this is what you're lookin' for. Increase the LOD_RADIUS until you get the result you want.
FSX cfg file under "Terrain"

[TERRAIN]
AUTOGEN_DENSITY=4
DETAIL_TEXTURE=1
LOD_RADIUS=4.500000
MESH_COMPLEXITY=100
MESH_RESOLUTION=23
SWAP_WAIT_TIMEOUT=2
TEXTURE_RESOLUTION=28
WATER_EFFECTS=6

"Oh! I have slipped the surly bonds of Earth and danced the skies on laughter silvered wings. Sunward I've climbed and joined the tumbling mirth of sun split clouds.....and done a hundred things you have never dreamed of.....wheeled and soared and swung high in the sunlit silence. Hovering there, I've chased the shouting wind along and flung my eager craft through footless halls of air.

Up, up the long, delerious, burning blue I've topped the wind swept heights with easy grace where never Lark, nor even Eagle flew. While with silent lifting of mind I've trod the high untrespassed sanctity of space, put out my hand and touched the face of god"

thanks for your reply.
i tried increasing the radius but it is a fps killer, ofcourse, and loading times are the same.
i do not need more radius of detail in visual flights, couse i am near the scenarios enough when i fly a cessna in a canyon for example. increasing LOD would mean to make fsx load distant textures, which i do not need.
4.5 value is ok, it loads everything i need at the maximum LOD.
The problem is that it is slow loading.
