Hello,

I have just recently finished building my new computer, and I was wondering if anyone knows of any way to OC an AMD Phenom ii x4 965 BE to 4 Ghz. I currently have it at 3.8, but I want to try to squeeze some more power out of it. I did have it at 4Ghz for about 10 minutes, but it ended up crashing my computer.
My Specs are:

CPU: AMD Phenom ii x4 965 BE at 3.8 Ghz
GPU: Evga GeForce GTX 550 ti
RAM: 8gb of Patriot Viper 3 at 1600Mhz
Motherboard: ASRock N68C-GS FX
Antec Kuhler H2O Liquid Cooling

If anyone knows of anyway to stabilize it at 4Ghz, it would be a great help.
Thanks!

I just killed that processor. It did, though last for 3 years at 4.11GHz for me.

I applied a little more voltage to the "CPU/NB". Maybe a couple clicks up from stock, but not too much. I don't remember the exact number, but 1.7 will kill it. Try to push it beyond 1.4, if it's not there yet. This is assuming you have all other things dialed in, and that your cooling is better than the sub-standard stock HSF that was supplied.

RAM timings are important, as well as HT freq and NB freq. it was really a stroke of luck that got me there. I had the NB and HT both @ 2600 MHz. I'm not sure I could tell you exactly how, after all the attempts, that it just decided to work one time.

I had CPU V at 1.6250 @ 4.1 GHZ (205 x 20) LLC off, RAM @ 1600+ @ 8-8-8-20 and 1.800V, CPU/NB @ 1.522V (bios had an "extreme over-volt" option that sent this over 1.7, which in turn killed the CPU) spread spectrum off, you probably know the rest.

I'll check up and see if any of this helps you, if you'd like.
Hope this helps...
