On March 3, 1969 the United States Navy established an elite school for the top one percent of its pilots. Its purpose was to teach the lost art of aerial combat and to insure that the handful of men who graduated were the best fighter pilots in the world. They succeeded. Today, the Navy calls it Fighter Weapons School. The flyers call it: TOP GUN.

Excuse me, Lieutenant. Is there something wrong?
Yes ma'am, the data on the Mig is inaccurate. .......
...

Holy shit, it's Viper!
Viper's up here, great... oh shit...
Great, he's probably saying, "Holy shit, it's Maverick and Goose."
Yeah, I'm sure he's saying that.....
...

Tower, this is Ghost Rider requesting a flyby.
Negative, Ghost Rider, the pattern is full.
...

No. No, Mav, this is not a good idea.
Sorry, Goose, but it's time to buzz a tower.
...
Maybe I could learn how to be a truck driver. Mav, you have the number of that truck-driving school we saw on TV? Truck Master, I think it is. I might need that.
Thanks 4 looking Smiley

"Oh! I have slipped the surly bonds of Earth and danced the skies on laughter silvered wings. Sunward I've climbed and joined the tumbling mirth of sun split clouds.....and done a hundred things you have never dreamed of.....wheeled and soared and swung high in the sunlit silence. Hovering there, I've chased the shouting wind along and flung my eager craft through footless halls of air.

Up, up the long, delerious, burning blue I've topped the wind swept heights with easy grace where never Lark, nor even Eagle flew. While with silent lifting of mind I've trod the high untrespassed sanctity of space, put out my hand and touched the face of god"
