Where do  most FS9 crop sprayers go to do their thing ?

I can't seem to find any crop areas on my FS9 even with the thing maxed out.

I LOVE doing sim crop dusting. I have half a dozen excellent planes for it too.

Stock scenery there are places to do it. However if you want good FREE-ware scenery for a good crop dusting, try the Silver Wings scenery/terrain mod. It changes the world textures, auto-gen, and scenery making it lest like the real world but makes it look more like woods, real neighborhoods, and real farms...also really bumps up the number and distribution of auto-gen trees which makes crop-dusting really challenging.

To find specific areas, I suggest looking on Google Earth for crop-heavy areas. I like buzzing around my local fields. Crop dusting in Michigan is limited usually to small blue berry fields and the like...which is a nice challenge  Wink

Recently I acquired Ultimate Terrain USA FS2004, it looks awesome, but the auto-gen is far below the density of Silver Wings (which is available here at simv).

I will add to that as I said Silver Wings fails at matching the real world but makes the sim world seem like A real world due to the massively improved auto-gen which tends to create lots of forests and farm land all over. In short, make a back up of your scenery/autogen and give Silver Wings a go. It is wonderful free-ware that is perfect for us virtual crop-dusters.

Looks interesting Adam!

As a low and slow flier, I presently use the wonderful "VOZ 1.8" for my ground textures, colours, and buildings; and the equally wonderful "Ultimate Terrain" for my road and rail system, so I'll give the Silver Wings program a try-out as an alternative.... Wink...!

Anything to make the scenery below look more realistic/different!

Paul....FS 2004... Smiley...!

P.S. Note: Crop Dusting can seriously shorten your life!... Roll Eyes...!

As always Paul, make a back up of all your scenery/autogen related files before trying Silver Wings in case you do not like it. I installed it to a temp folder first to see what FS9 folders I needed to make back ups of.

Excellent tip, Adam....

At the moment I select different areas in VOZ 1.8 to create a similar effect...
VOZ Northern Territory shows the lush green textures.

For SOCAL late Summer/Fall season, I select VOZ SW/Central Territory to create a drier landscape, together with FS9 Gerrish Grey's September Season showing the Autumn golden trees.!.

Its fun playing with different textures/colours for different seasons and areas.

Paul...FS 2004...My garden is full of fallen, golden leaves now, (Late Autumn)!

A 747 was halfway across the Atlantic when the captain got on the loud speaker, "Attention, passengers. We have lost one of our engines, but we can certainly reach London with the three we have left. Unfortunately, we will arrive an hour late as a r esult." http://www.mmomesos.com
Shortly thereafter, the passengers heard the captain's voice again, "Guess what, folks. We just lost our third engine, but please be assured we can fly with only one. We will now arrive in London three hours late."

At this point, one passenger became furious. "For Pete's sake," he shouted, "If we lose another engine, we'll be up here all night!" http://www.mmohome.com
