There are no pictures of those wonderful Land Rovers like my 1963, 1965 Model 88.

Must be an oversight on the car lovers there... Roll Eyes      Lips Sealed      Wink

In Britain nowadays to own a Rover is like wearing a big sign around your neck announcing what kind of wazzock you are Grin Grin Grin
They're even less credible than a Hyundai! And my sister has one of those...

Almost as bad as an Austin All-aggro. Cheesy Austin Allegro voted worst car in Britain

Of course Hyundai and Kia are slowly taking over the motoring world, now they've discovered European R&D and killer 5/7 year warranties. All Kia need to do now is get rid of the daft model names. Mock them at your peril! Smiley The are the new Skoda!

Rover made 2 good things: the SD1, and V8 engines for TVRs (maybe they should've done the electrics too).

Their V8 was up there with the Cologne V6 from Ford. Beautiful. I seem to recall their V8 was also used in certain Jaguars for decades... which is why they didn't go bust.
The only reason BMW brought Rover was to steal the K-Series engine which still appears in a variant form in the evil love-child of lard the new Mini Tongue Tongue Tongue

I though like most British mass industry they didn't go bust due to continual propping up from the government, until cost (allied to unions and high wage demands) and poor quality (compared to what was imported from Europe and Japan) finally killed them. Wink
