I used to have a nice .bgl to .xml decompiler that I believe I DL'd from Simviation, but cannot seem to locate.  I just DL'd "Bgl2Xml", but it does not seem to work.  The output XXXX.bgl.xml does not open in Notepad, even if I cut out the ".bgl".  Is there another Decompiler in the house?

I also had a nifty little .bgl compiler, I believe Dave3cu posted it that made converting the xml back to a .bgl easy as a "right click/open".

Is the Doctor still in the house?

bgl2xml is for fs9, does not work for fsx bgl files.

Can't find the file on SimV but look for 'bglanalyze.zip' over at AV???. By Winfried Orthmann. Versions for both FS9 and FSX included.

To compile an FSX xml to bgl you need the bglcomp sdk, part of the FSX SDK installed off the FSX Deluxe or Accel. discs.

Thanks Dave.  Found the Bglanalyze, and it works.  I have the SDK, but dropping the XML onto BGLComp does not generate any results I can find. A window flashes but that's it.

BglXml is FS9 only.  Bgl2Xml GUI is my app and will work with both FS9 and FSX.

Winfried build three versions of BglAnalyze.

BglAnalyze works with pre FS9 Bgl files.  New BglAnalyze works with FS9 and BglAnalyzeX works with FSX.

To see what is happening when you compile try either CompilerHelper which can be found in the downloads section at www.fsdeveloper.com.  Alternatively I have a companion app to Bgl2Xml that does the same thing.  In both cases the error messages from the compiler are captured and put into a text box so that you can read it.

I recall having this problem before, but when the house burned up, so did the computer. Tongue

I did a bit of time traveling and found the old thread:  /yabb?num=1229226795

I'm going to give the FS9 compiler a shot....
