Two outstanding freeware aircraft from the SimV site
Grumman S2F-3 Tracker FSX Package
ERS has done a conversion of Milton Shupe's excellent Grumman S2F-3 Tracker so that we now have it for FSX.....with more models to come!
Piaggio P-180 Package V3.0
Mario Noriega brings us a new Piaggio P-180 for FSX....this one has got some very nice exterior textures
Thanks 4 looking
"Oh! I have slipped the surly bonds of Earth and danced the skies on laughter silvered wings. Sunward I've climbed and joined the tumbling mirth of sun split clouds.....and done a hundred things you have never dreamed of.....wheeled and soared and swung high in the sunlit silence. Hovering there, I've chased the shouting wind along and flung my eager craft through footless halls of air.
Up, up the long, delerious, burning blue I've topped the wind swept heights with easy grace where never Lark, nor even Eagle flew. While with silent lifting of mind I've trod the high untrespassed sanctity of space, put out my hand and touched the face of god"

Great shots! The first two are my favorites, have yet to land a Grumman S2F-3 on an Aircraft Carrier successfully. Well done.
I have no place to go and all day to get there.

Wonderful set Chuck...well done...
Tracker shots are greatly appreciated...
Many many years ago I had the chance to fly in the Tracker out of a fixed base.
The pilot was a friend of mine so we got to do several touch and goes off a hard surface runway.
I can tell you right now the Tracker is all engines, powerful and very maneuverable.
With bubble side windows in the front office the view is stunning.
I did learn a couple of things from my friend:
(1) The Canadian Tracker differed from the American
Tracker by being a foot shorter to fit in the
hangar deck.
(2) The American Pilots would not land on the Canadian
Carriers as they said they were to small...yet we all
flew many of the same type...
I will tell you another story sometime about the Navy Hawker Sea Fury being able to climb to a given altitude beating out many jets at that time.
Those Navy lads cost me a few beers a couple of times...
Again well done on the shots Chuck...sorry to get so long winded again...
Cheers...Happy Landings...Doug

Thanks, guys
@Doug........as always, thanks for the info and the story
@Bass........for lack of a better idea, I used the default Grumman Goose sound
@TooTall........My first attempt at landing the Tracker on a carrier was a disaster. My approach was way off and I decided to wave off.......well, the hook hangs quite a way below the wheels and WILL grab the cable regardless of whether the wheels are on the deck or not. So, be very careful when boltering, the hook doesn't know it isn't supposed to catch the cable

And The author of the 180 is working on hi res cockpit textures so the quality will match the exterior
Most people think that flying a plane is dangerous, except pilots because they know how easy it is.
Arguing with a pilot is like wrestling with a pig in the mud, after a while you begin to think the pig likes it.

The first and last shots are stunning
I love that Tracker, and the comments above about the HD textures for the VC is the best news of the day
Got bloom ?
Got mountains ?
Got damage ?
