However all the windows appear black, probably soemthing I've done wrong during installation.

Anyone know of the problem? Smiley

Do a search in this forum for changing the alpha channel and try that.  There are numerous threads detailing what you need to do.  You will need to decide what glass texture to try it on if you can not find a thread that deals with the paticular aircraft you have.

Always make a copy of any file before you change it and put it somewhere safe.

Gots an even better Idea that,, which I've tried and used before and its easy, and I like easy !!  Find you another aircraft within your simulator, with the same type of file format,,, either the Bitmap or DDS textures, and just Copy & Paste that file right into the Aircraft your having problems with,,,,, but,,,,,, you'll have to change the new swapped file to the Exact name of the file you've deleted or over written, very important, usually that'll work, a lot less hassle,,, I've done it with glass textures and Spin Prop textures, but I have to keep the file name the same as the old file name that doesn't work,,, but the texture format is different,,, try that see if it works ????? Lips Sealed Lips Sealed Huh

I've just checked this out. It's an FS9 model & the person who updated it forgot to include the common base textures. The easiest way to fix it is as follows:

Download the original FS9 base package here --> http://simviation.com/1/search?submit=1&keywords=HS748V1Base.zip&x=13&y=15

Run the auto-installer & direct it to a Temp folder, NOT your FSX directory.
All you need is the folder named Texture.
Paste this folder into your Hawker Siddeley 748 folder that is already installed to FSX.
Finally, open any Texture folder of any default aircraft & copy the file named texture.cfg. Paste a copy of this file into every Texture.xxx folder in the 748. (There's a lot of Texture folders.) That should do the trick.

Here's a before & after shot.

Thanks all for your replies, what a good forum Cool

Thanks very much Hagar for such a comprehensive and helpfull answer Smiley

I had been looking for an all British non-military aircraft that was in service during the 60's, something with props and a reasonable range. I was quite disappointed when the windows were black.....thanks again for the solution Cool
