I haven't done it yet but I hear you download the installers and then have to log into MS Live to finish the download. Also this server is busy and a bit touchy.

Looks like a helluva price list there. I hope they sell a proper add-on ATC that's worth a sh!t - maybe they can add SID/STAR, emergency situations and regional accents while they're at it...  Roll Eyes  Roll Eyes  Roll Eyes Friggin' M$$$$$$$

As a gift from the team, the top contributors to the beta were given tokens for some of the downloads... So I will be able to let you know if the Hawaii Adventure Pack and some of the aircraft are worth the purchase.

I'm able to download the game now, so I'm sure most people should be able to. I don't know if you must wait until tomorrow for the game to activate, but it's still worth trying.

Quite a few others have it up and running so don't think you have to wait. They will tell you if its not available in your area right away.

Just flew around in it. I think it sucks. Stall characteristics are....less than satisfying lets just say. The scenery is well done, although it runs on my system in a less-than-acceptable way. FSX runs smoother for me and FS2004 too me looks better and runs much better. The 'feel' of the Icon and Stearman are just 'soft'. As in 'dumbed down' and yes, I did turn on all possible realism.
Anyways, I am sure to NOT buy anything for it. That said, time to get into FS2004 to wash the stink of Flight of my joystick! Grin

And here they are. Will post more later, as long as this community doesn't start filling my thread with hate. If they don't like it, then they can leave. No need to annoy the ones who actually do find a way to enjoy Flight with a bunch of pointless ranting. If you want to rant, send Microsoft an email.  Grin

We are not Ranting, we are expressing our opinions. I believe that without third-party add-ons Flight will just disappear.

You only need to be on a Flight Sim forum for a week to realise that Freeware is the only reason that Flight Simulator has been around as long as it has.

Mine is downloading at the moment. If initial findings are correct then for grins i'll just put it on my xbox as its a game and not a sim. Im sure the terrain will look quite stunning on a 65" with DLP Grin

Time for a sensible question. Does anyone know where Flight is installed? I can't seem to find it on my hard drive. Huh

That question came up elsewhere and that person said it loads to whatever your MS Live accounts are directed to. Or something like that.  Tongue Did they forget to add an uninstall button?

Same place as where FS9 and FSX are installed.

And yes, you can uninstall it... Either through GFWL or Add/Uninstall software.

No Steve, there is an uninstall button, I just wanted to see what format the A/C are in. Wink

Also, a quick comparison.

FSX: Thousands of freeware & payware aircraft.

Flight: 2 Freeware & 2 payware aircraft.

Thanks for the heads-up machineman. The layout of the Flight folder is like this:

\Microsoft Flight\Core\SimObjects\Airplanes. All there is inside the Airplanes folder is an Airplane.dll.

Uh, didn't Flight just get released? Not sure what your point is with that comparison.

Most of the other simulators had a few dozen aircraft at release... This is very low for the series (if it is still relateable to the series).

Also all of the other simulators in the series had a SDK so third-party developers could make aircraft for them. Microsoft appears to have cut the third-party out of the loop in flight.

I've played Flight a bit more now, & while it's fun it won't replace FSX.

Also MS are selling a Mustang for 640 MS Points that doesn't even have a VC. People wouldn’t have stood this in FSX so don’t stand it in Flight.
