Are you getting any kind of error message? Which browser are you using?

You possibly did not 'allow' simviation when you 1st tried?

Sounds like something on your system is blocking access.

Some further info would help. Smiley

I've been unable to d/l files from here for months now. I'm using Firefox, always the most recent stable release, no alpha/betas. I've also tried with addons turned off. I always get the message that says "Non-registered visitors can download only 2 files simultaneously. If you get this message in error please try deleting Temp Internet files (cache) in your browser". OK, so I've also flushed the cache, no temp internet files. Same result. Cookies all accepted, same result. And I was never asked to allow anything when I login here.
However, I -can- use IE and download just like I used to, back before Simviation was broken. Of course, I really dislike using IE, so I don't get things from here if I can find them elsewhere. As a result, I use Simviation a great deal less than I used to. Used to like this place, I did.
I don't know what else to tell you, just wanted you to know that you're not the only one that's had trouble with downloads from Simviation. Having followed all the advice I've been given by admins and a couple of other users,  I've given up trying. The good news is that virtually everything available for d/l can be gotten from a couple of other places.
Good luck to you, and to Simviation. I'd like to think that one day they'll fix their code so it works with Firefox again. A properly crafted website wouldn't care what browser someone uses.
  Peace.  -R0

Of course we make sure all browsers work. A substantial % of our users use FF including me. If there was a general site problem, believe me we would be hearing about it all the time  - plus site usage would have decreased. Neither are the case.

The problem you describe is because your system is trying to make multiple connections to our files. This happens either from browser cache or some kind of download assistant. It IS a rare problem. Emptying browser cache has always fixed it from users who have communicated with us in the past.

I'm sorry you're having this little issue but if you spend a bit of time you could easily fix it. & yes we have 100's of files uploaded exclusively to Simv -- Other sites do take them but it's not my job to be interested in that unless a developer has a problem and needs our support to have a file removed.

Yes I have suggested further things too such as turning off firewall & antivirus and trying to connect. (& turn them back on again! Wink )
Your tracert suggests a very local problem to you - maybe your router. (as a last resort you can go into your router and look at settings) Something in your system is blocking access when you are logged in as a member.

Always start with the easiest and least complicated things - because they are usually the answer.
