It would be pretty hard to beat this guy, mostly because they just don't build 'em like they used to.  Grin

If God intended aircraft engines to have horizontally opposed engines, Pratt and Whitney would have made them that way.

I did own a BMW 318i for 21 years, does it count? Grin

Registered in 1984, I bought it second hand in 1989 and kept it up to the day the engine gave out and had to scrap everything, in April 2010, because the prices asked to recondition the engine was just too damn steep... even if in those two decades I could have counted on one sole hand the times that poor car gave me serious problems (and would have left some fingers free too), 1 grand ONLY to dismount the engine off its brackets, then from there onward it was a free-for-all of prices going up and away was just too much if you think that a FIAT's engine reconditioning, inclusive of engine dismounting and then remounting, would cost less than 400€... I think the mechanics hereabout just didn't want to have to bother with something so "demanding" as putting an engine back to working order, when they can use the same time ripping off other car's owners for much the same money, if not more, but with vastly less work required. Angry

Quality Bavarian engineering  Cool Now to answer the question, 4 days Grin. Just taken delivery of BMW 525 Tourer number five. Once dummed down with a 320 tourer, but saw the light and upgrade back shortly afterwards Grin

It's slightly worrying how long a car that is well looked after can last in comparison to an every-day car. A show of the times I suppose.

I don't own a car myself, but the car I drive is an '03 Seat Leon 1.6 S, and although it's only been in the family for about 4 or 5 years, it's probably no where near as healthy as that Rolls. They just don't make them like that anymore...

It can't be the original paint (can it?), but it sure looks like a shade from that era... never seen anything quite like it.

Rather than take offense at that, I'll just say that not only is it still on the road, but it still looks great and is just as quick and fast as ever. It just needs some new shoes and a bath. Roll Eyes
