The screenshot I am especially impressed with is Number 2. There are not only tree shadows, but shadows on the trees!  Shocked

Screenshot 3 looks like it was taken from a FPS.  If that's the quality that Flight is going with, I hate to think what kind of system you're gonna need to run it.  I recently bought a dual-core, and I have serious doubts about whether or not it can even try to run this sim.  These are no doubt the best I have ever seen from a sim, but as the past two installments of FS have shown: the package never quite delivers on the actual product.

Looking at the updates and reading the press releases I admit I am excited to see what flight will be. Personally I feel if they make the product more entry level for the enthusiast they will appeal to a larger audience.

Havent been simming much recently, I am ready for the next generation of simulators....

from the rumors that I have heard, FSFlight will be less taxing on your system than FSX. basically if you can run FS9 wide open, then you should have no problem with Flight.

yay cool! no mandatory online!

but still... i've been flying with Tileproxy for the past few weeks, and i'm finding it hard to find that even the best that stock FSX can do still doesn't beat a streaming photoreal setup even in less than optimal conditions....

i have in highest hopes that Flight would at least include an openStreetmap integration feature to properly represent scenery at locations....
the "regular" scenery just seems cartoony and unsatisfying for me... even with autogen on full blast (which, in FSX, is nigh impossible without a multi-thousand-buck rig, even today)

Flight is looking damn good so far... but the screenies always do... then you get in there and find you need to dl' gigabytes worth of scenery to get something nice to look at out the cockpit...

i think i'm proxy-spoiled...  Grin

Tile Proxy is just fine as long as you don't mind flying only in the daytime, and in whatever season(s) during which the photos were taken...   Cheesy

yeah, i really don't  Grin Cheesy

and the lack of autogen also makes for pretty decent FPS even on middle-aged rigs like mine... you'd think you'd miss it - but photoreal is sooooo much more appealing than default, even with autogen and whatnot set on max....

i was hoping "Flight" would at least look into what they can adapt from TileProxy as a general concept...
all sorts of ideas come to mind... streaming high-res mesh heights, roads and coastlines.... or even with actual imagery - it's a couple of clever image processing tricks away to get seasons in - and night lighting could be created using the vector roads and landclass info as a light-mask...

but i figure chances are, they won't do any of that.... so at least i should hope they keep the terrain architecture open enough so a descendant of TileProxy may perform it's magic.... 'cus as of now, that's my deal-breaking point - no TileProxy, no Moach - i'll surely stick with FSX if they shut that door down...

but it's looking good! - i hope it can actually RUN on our computers this time...  Roll Eyes

Well, given that the goal is to have a sim that will still be "playable" without being connected to the internet, any such "streaming scenery" is highly unlikely!  Roll Eyes

by default, no doubt, extremely unlikely...

but it sincerely hope they make it easier to integrate an addon steamng module... without having to hack our ways into that.....

woud be highly appreciated  Roll Eyes
