MS Flight (yeah...I know...."not this again") (Read 433 times)

Yes, I know that anyone that clicks this already knows what I am going to ask, and I apologize if I step on any toes in the process. It's simply a suggestion from a very low man on the forum's totem pole due to new information being released...

Regarding:
http://205.252.250.26/cgi-bin/yabb2/YaBB.pl?num=1282062647/120#120

As can be seen in the "Microsoft develops a new flight...thing" thread in the General Discussion area of the forums, Microsoft has released more information about the forthcoming program, which I believe can now officially be classified as a simulation. You can read their FAQ for yourself on the their website, but basically put, MS Flight will indeed be a simulator, and is the successor to FSX.

This being said, the predictable question is.....

Due to these new developments, and the recent presence of "Microsoft FLIGHT" areas on other FS hobby websites, when will we be adding our own section to the forums for this new simulation software?

Again, just a question that was inspired from new information and confirmations. I won't be a pest with the issue. I just figured that since it's actually being confirmed that the program will continue to be a simulation.....  Wink

Good point --

Perhaps we should have a board specifically for this ......

Though it should also be said we probably won't be supporting any program that we cannot contribute to - providing addons, etc .....

From my point of view.......

So until we have an answer that the program will have an open architecture that allows freeware development without Microsoft's hands being all over it.... it would seem that it would be best to wait a bit to get confirmation of this fact direct from Microsoft before creating a forum section.

best,

I've created one just as there seems to be a demabnd for discussion about it ...

If it turns out to be a closed box with MS having full control of all addons -- it will be demoted to below the payware board until it fizzles out -- which it will if that's the case  ....  Cheesy
