Well Javier's Carriers have a CFG file that is placed in the conf.d folder, Is this not necessary  Shocked

The readme says it is, but I didn't do it.
I apparently added the info from the Nimitz cfg  to the cvn_id.cfg file, and adjusted the formation numbers. (I don't remember doing this, but the text is there, so I must have.)

Twilight theme, Go.  Grin

Anyways, I will have to try that. Today..Yesterday I made the most progress. It worked for two straight reboots of the Sim. I just need to figure out the rest.

What are the advantages of V2 over V1?

With V2, you control where they are, and when.

With V1, they are at set locations around the world.

V2 is the preferred version since you can call them up anywhere, anytime. (when it's working)  Wink

I am almost resorting to completely reinstalling FSX just to see if that will help, The only thing thats stopping me is the fact that its 30Gb. And I just added a bunch of scenery.   Cry

If I have to reinstall FSX again.... I'm not.  Wink

My system hates it as it is, and I can just barely run it at a
level that is comparable to my FS9, so I rarely fly it.
I mainly keep it installed for problem solving, and screen shots.  Wink

I'm saving my copy for the future,
when they finally release a flight sim that doesn't require NSA level hardware to run,
and then I'm going to use my FSX dvd for a coffee coaster.  Grin  Wink

Completly new Install of it, Edited the Cvn_id. To add Javier's Carriers. No avail.

I may resort to using default carriers here  Shocked

Have you ever felt like a total idiot ?

Turns out everytime I edited my Cvn_id. It reset to old values, Causing Aicarriers to not recognize anything.

Everything is fine and working, Just change the properties to Read only and Im good to go..

Now where is that facepalm smiley ?

Is this entry the very first one in that file:

[base]
throttle=60
menu_shortcut=shift+j
confdir=conf.d

If it is, or if you put it there, and it doesn't work, then try
making a desktop shortcut to the aicarriers.exe, and when it doesn't appear in the addon menu, go to windowed mode in FSX, and try using the shortcut to activate it and see if that helps.

What operating system do you use?  Huh

It's there.

And I use vista, and UAC was disabled the first day I installed Vista on this Computer.

And I will try that right now

Starting it with the game windowed is fine, I just have to keep the actual Aicarrier Minimized.

Its like it's refusing to start otherwise.

I'm running Win7 64bit so your address may be different, ensure that all files are made visible, under

Computer/localdisk(c)/users/yourname/Appdata/Roaming/Microsoft/FSX

you should have a XML file called exe.xml make a copy of this and rename it exebak.xml as a backup.

now open the original with notebook (not wordpad) and have a look if you have the following lines

<Path>C:\Program Files\Frosty Software\Texture Max Load Editor\tml.exe</Path>
           </Launch.Addon>

  <Launch.Addon>
           <Name>Ai carriers</Name>
           <Disabled>False</Disabled>
           <Path>D:\Program Files (x86)\aicarriers\aicarriers.exe</Path>
           </Launch.Addon>

           <Launch.Addon>
           <Name>Autothumbnail</Name>
           <Disabled>False</Disabled>

this being where you have installed Aicarriers  <Path>D:\Program Files (x86)\aicarriers\aicarriers.exe</Path>

if not add them, then save, hopefully this will help the exe.xml tells the simconnect.dll which programs to run on FSX startup.

We covered that on the first two pages.  Grin  Wink

Both of us had the exact same problem, and finally had to resort to a manual loading each time.

Our EXE.xml files were correct, and just like yours, but refused to load on startup.

Changing them to manual load at least got the program working again.  Wink
