What is the answer to every flight question possible to ask?

I need info on:

ATC

Radio Communications

Flight Techniques

Emergency Procedures

Take-off

Landing
and everyother in-flight thing that can be done,
this'll probably becoem a huge hit very quickly.

I want to know this so that I can be a great pilot, and impress my instructor when I go to flight school this summer.

another question eating at me is what is the:
Outbound y-intercept

I would ask your flight instructor when you go to flight school this summer.  His answer will probably take several months, involve many hours of demonstrations while flying an actual aircraft, and will involve a rather large monetary investment from you. Wink

Sorry to be an a$$, but the answer would fill a 600 page textbook (see the link below for an example of this book).

I'll help with one though:

I've never heard of an out-bound y-intercept.  It sounds like a procedure turn on an instrument approach.

If you want a head start, you could start working your way through this book:

the out-bound y-intercept is on the panel, the flight instructor on my flight sim, said to take the out-bound y-intercept, so that I can make a proper landing. does that make any sense, because I couldn't make sense out of it.

Could that be similar to a teardrop turn?  Try this for your reading www.faa.gov/library/manual/aviation/pilot_handbook seventeen chapters - each a PDF download.

in Olderndirt's post he gives a link to the Pilots Handbook from the FAA.

I will go a little more Broad and say look though EVERY FRIGGIN LINK, better than that... take the next 4 years and read EVERY FRIGGIN WORD from EVERY LINK... http://www.faa.gov/regulations_policies/handbooks_manuals/

once you do that.. you will know pretty much EVERYTHING the FAA knows.

Good luck with that. I've been flying airplanes for a decade and don't know the answer to every flight question possible to ask. In fact, I know people who have been flying many decades and they'll all tell you the same.

And I'll add that the most important thing regarding knowledge for an airman is not how much you can impress people with what you know, but how much you can impress people with your constant willingness to learn something new.
Start thinking you know it all and you're headed for trouble.

As for the "Y-intercept" thing, a y-intercept is a geometry term; has to do with graphs. I can't see how it would have any relevance to an instrument approach.

What sim and what panel are you referring to?

my FSX sim. The person told me either to watch my out-bound y-intercetp, or take the out-bound y-intercept

A-10,

Go to www.faa.gov. Click "Regulations & Policies," then "Handbooks and Manuals." Then expand some of the options. There are a bunch of flight instruction books there. Load up your printer and print as much as you need. It's free.

Outbound-intercept

OK this is from a SIMPilot point of view,
and from how I  understand it, feel free to correct me if I am wrong.

an outbound-intercept is this,

your heading is west 270`

your 10nms  Southeast of  your destination, "City Airport"

according to your flightplan you are going to intercept the
"ABC" VOR

Your going to intercept the 135` raidal of VOR ABC
once you intercept the signal you turn to 315` towards VOR ABC.

Now VOR ABC is 5nms from City Airport,  at 305`outbound,
and you should know this if you looked at your charts.

So what you are going to do is fly inbound at 315`
and as you cross over the ABC VOR station you'll turn to 305`
and be on the 305` out bound raidal towards City Airport.

This is done for IFR approachs, and to guide you into the pattern.
so in other words in order to get to City Airport you have to intercept the 305`
outbound raidal from ABC VOR no matter which direction your coming from,
unless of course ATC tells you diffrent.
