Things seem a little slow in this forum, but that's understandable since this isn't a builders site. I enjoy reading and responding to many of the topics here and like it very much here. Especially the Real Aviation and Aircraft forums.

Here's a little something I put together over the last five years in this hobby. I get a lot of enjoyment from this 727 and it's as close as I'll ever come to sitting in one again.

This is a Lufthansa 727-230, D-ABHI, that was retired or sold long ago. I don't know if it is the exact Lufthansa configuration, but it's close enough for me.

I uploaded for you, but I had to leave a few as links to keep from going over the 600k thread limit.  These are too nice to not be here.  Wink

Thanks again for sharing them.

It was an accident. Grin

I started with a couple of panels I built for the desktop and that led to an overhead. Then I wanted a throttle so I built that. Not being satisfied, I built the control stand to mount it on. Then I wanted a yoke to ditch the desktop toys.

Then I needed a chair...

And I got tired of looking at a 19" monitor so I needed an instrument panel...you can see where it led.

This whole this has snowballed over the last five years. I had never intended to build a flight simulator. What I mean is, I didn't sit down one day and say, Yep, I'm gonna build a 727 flight simulator.

After installing the instrument panel I knew it was too late to turn back so I built the rest of it. It's only a 3/4 shell though as there is a chimney in the way of the FO's side.

Most of the home-made panels have been replaced with Boeing made or contracted panels in the overhead, forward equipment rack and center control stand. The instrument panel and yoke is from a retired 727.

I guess I have around $7K including computers and monitors. Maybe more, maybe less. I'd really rather not know.

Four computers run the simulator and all of the monitors. It's interfaced using input cards from several vendors and FSUIPC.

Yep, every piece except the knobs, go-around paddles, and Korry indicators.

A friend of mine turned the knobs from Delrin on a lathe.

Let me know if you've had a look at them yet. I'm going to remove them at the end of the day.

I have re-sized them and attempted to upload them to this server, but the resolution is still making them three to four times the byte size allowed.

Reducing to smaller size looses too much detail. I'd just as soon remove them to comply with the rules.

Yea I have a few images I wanna upload real bad but every time i reduce the size and try to upload I get one or more of the mentioned issues (IE loss of quality or size limit exceeded) and i've done just about every thing i can think of in short of saving in a different format which also tends to loose the quality Sad

The rules are the same for everyone. Most of BSW727's images were actually within forum limits.
