some updates
this was work tidying up around the door frames. trying to get the right curves in place. I have been lucky in that recently a Baron has been operating into Auckland Airport  where I work and I was able to get out there with tape measure, camera and tracing paper.

put a fillet of wood in the corner and then bog and grind into shape
...

...

then a few pieces of mdf cut to shape and then again bog and grind (or sand)
...

...

to fill in the corner at the front of the pilots side window I have tried some of the mother in laws flower arranging "stuff" don't know what it's called but they stick the dried flowers into it - comes in green and grey - get the grey not the green if you use it, as the green is water absorbent. It is really easy to shape.
...

then it was the tedious task of refining the frame shape
again fix, fill, grind
...

...

...

the overall shape coming into form
...

I have done a bit more but have to document it yet
I have also ordered more of the circuitry from opencockpits so hopefully that will arrive soon. I have also been spending quite a bit of time rebuilding my computer after a bad set of video drivers killed the registry and effectively killed the machine - had to call in the IT tech from the wifes work - he got it going again but all the restore points were gone so it's reload everything from scratch again - bit of a pain but better than it could have been - thank goodness for the external usb harddrive!
cheers all
Craig

Craig,

From that last picture I'd swear that you were actually building a real aircraft!  Why don't you just keep going "all the way"?   Wink

best,

problem!

theres so many screws and so much bog that I'd have to have the first PT6 powered baron to get it to move off the ramp! Grin

"bog"?  Your neck of the woods for filler putty?  Or Bondo?

yeah
has the main creamy part in a can and then the red hardener in a small bottle
you mix and slap in place before it hardens - the more hardener you put in the faster it sets
then just sand down

"bog" is just the slang for anything of this type
i.e. 'bog it up'

Looking good... but if you're planning on locating it anywhere else, you might want to move it now... probably getting quite heavy. Grin

I was sort-of clever when I built mine on a steel dolly with casters... but I forgot it won't fit out the door of my room... Roll Eyes   Cheesy
Seriously, though, having it on wheels makes it much easier to deal with throughout the project.

it won't be a problem moving it

All I can say, you got skills... I maybe sometime I will do this, but yours looks almost too real for a sim. Very nice.
