I'm sure I'm not the first to suggest this, but how about splitting the screenshots section into one for FS9 (or older) and one for FSX? Seems to me nearly half the replies to screenshots are 'Is that FS9 or FSX?'.

The general opinion at the moment is that we have enough graphics forums, splitting the Freeware screenshots between FS9 and FSX would also mean that the Payware screenshot forum would also have to be split.

I'm sure that the same sort of conversation went on when FS9 began to become popular over FS2002.... If a split had taken place then we would be looking at seperate forums for FS98, FS2000, 2002, 2004 and FSX  with another split between pay and freeware.

An easy way out would be for the Posters to state which Program they used to obtain the Screenshot.

I rarely actually see people asking if the shots are from FS9 or FSX... I mean, generally they do look quite different!  Wink

There you go, being sensible again... Roll Eyes
I agree; it would be helpful, and definitely a better idea than creating a new category, which would not only create more clutter, but would inevitably lead to posts in the wrong forum, and of course just as many clueless "FS9 or FSX?" replies. Roll Eyes
