if you go to the recorder tab on the toolbar, you will see an option, advanced spot view
if you create a new view you can then set up what angle around the plane you want the view to be, how high above the plane, how far away and whether it moves with the plane's bank.
Have a little experiment to see what you like.

Using the Recorder menu:
Create one or more new Advanced Spot View (or Tower view).
Turn on 'Manual Panning' in Edit Spot View. (This unlocks the advanced view from the center of the ac to get those great angles.)
Now, in Spot view, use the 'V' key to cycle thru available spot views (normal, plus those you created). In any of the advanced spot views you can use the default 'eyepoint' movements. (These are the same movements you use to move about the VC, i.e; left/right, up/down, forward/back, pan and zoom.)

Just incase you arent aware of the movements, here they are (correct me if I make a mistake):
Forward= CTRL+Backspace
Backward= CTRL+Enter
Left= CTRL+SHIFT+Backspace
Right= CTRL+SHIFT+Enter
Up= SHIFT+Enter
Down= SHIFT+Backspace
You can always change these settings in the controls menu under options. You can also adjust the distance the viewpoint moves under the recorder menu.
PS: To create a new view, just press CTRL+V, to swap views going up (ie 1 then 2 then 3...) press V, to swap views the other way press SHIFT+V
