There are a lot of freeware Apps on the net designed to get more out of your ram, more out of your hardrive and any other imaginable performance are of a PC. My qyestion is which of them work? I mean, wouldn't the utilities themselves use a certain amount of precious resources while running in the background?????

Have any of you ever used and had good results with any of these free performance enhancing utilities or aren't they typically worth the download time???

Thanks

Tried ram progs.  Not sure if they worked or not.  The little graph the progs made said they were working though lol.  I dont use anything now.  I figure more programs = more resources wasted.

I just have my HDD formated as NTFS and de-frag regularly, this keeps the HDD running smoothly.

If I play say COD for example and then I want to play FS2004 I will do a re-boot.  Takes only 40seconds ish and that clears the pc if it has got clogged at all.  Cant be arsed with all those stupid programs anymore!
