Just downloaded these. Noted some slight preformance increases. Went up from 4028 in 3dMark01 to 4055. Worth giving them a try. You can get them from www.guru3d.com.

For a score improvement of 27, using un-signed beta drivers on anything other than a test setup frankly is just asking for trouble!

If it don't say WHQL don't touch!

If you find after a while your beta drivers screw up, don't be surprised!!!   Wink

I find that the only safe place to obtain WHQL certified drivers are from here, following the steps as indicated...>>>

The latest drivers for my Ge-Force 4 4200 Ti board in Windows '98 are 56.64...old, but completely reliable... Wink...!

Cheers all...!

Hi Paul,  Just a thought, do you realise your losing approx 35% in overall performance by running '98 still?

If I benchmark my machine in '98 (its "dual boot" see...) I can expect 8500 in 3DMark 2001, with XP running, its an average of 12,000+ CFS3 runs VERY well with XP and equally bad under '98.

I know its another £70 to throw at your pc, believe me my friend ,its £70 well spent.  Wink

Paul.

Hi Paul...
I've got my CD of Windows XP, (and FS 2004), but I'm a bit "old fashioned" in that I've got a soft spot for Win '98 SE and FS 2002.... Wink...!
With EVERYTHING maxed, (apart from ATC, at 5%, 'cos I can't stand the endless chatter!), my set-up runs at 60+ FPS, just about everywhere, 'Frisco town centre, anti-alias, clouds and everything, but with it locked at 30 FPS , and running at 29.9 FPS, it runs as smooth as a babies bottom... Grin....!
Is there any point in running FS 2002 faster than 30 FPS...?

Cheers Paul... Grin...!

another Paul...(an old stick-in-the-mud)... Wink...!
LOL...!

P.S. ..my latest 3D mark 2001 was 9465, (1280x1024)....not that it means very much... Wink...!
...nice butterflies, tho'... 8)...!
LOL...!

amen on using only nvidia released drivers not no beta rubbish. fair enough a gain in performacnce but were going to get them from nvidia site soon so whats the rush lol

fozzy,

i have always said the Ti4200 cards are still a great card i had mine overclocked to a ti4600 fs9 almost looked as good as it does now with the 5950 ultra!

if anyone is on a price budget for a graphics card i cannot suggest the ti4200 strongly enough forget the fx5200 there a more expensive and weaker card

I've always had good experiance with betas. I've been using the 60 series since it first appeared. Fear not betafobics. nVidia officially released the 61.76 drivers today. They seem good. I haven't run them through 3dMark01. I'll report back with my findings.
