I got DAP too.  All you guys with XP dont need it anyhow!  XP (I got XP pro) has somthin built into it that remebers how much you have downloaded I think  ???

Other nite I was d/loadin a 40meg update for COD and hit the 'Enter' button which cancelled it with 50seconds left  Sad Dam I was cursin.  I hit the link again about 10mins later when I eventually found it and all I had left to download was 50seconds  Grin  Sweeeeet  Grin

Try it with a download on here, just let it download normally with no accelorator progs, stop it half way through then re-download and it should start off where it left! I say should coz I don't really know lol  Grin

Let me know if your XP does this for you too, or if someone with XP home can just confirm it.

Doesn't the website you are downloading from have to support the "resume" feature?

DAP is adware/spyware, or was last time I used it.

Net Vampire is what I have been using as a download manager as it is non obtrusive and drag and drop easy.

I have done up to 300mb downloads on dialup with it.

Dan, you can use the "shift+z" key combo to get a FPS readout on the screen of FSim.

You need to do 2 things to get useful results.

FIRSTLY:

To get a comparitive FPS reading, you have to decide on some "test standard" setting for both your driver settings and FSim graphics settings.

It's probably best if you choose your most common settings that you normally use while flying FSim as your "test standard".

SECONDLY:

Choose the same exact flight with the same weather etc. for the TEST FLIGHT.

I use the FS9 Default Flight at Seattle because it starts with the aircraft parked at the threshold in a dense scenery area.

When the flight loads, I don't move or touch anything other than the SHIFT + Z keys to get a FPS reading. It's that simple. Just wait about 20 seconds or so and try to estimate the average or most displayed figure you see there, also note the low and high figure. Compare the results with subsequent tests to note any changes in performance.

If you do it carefully and scientifically, this method is better than any benchmark anyway, as it directly reflects what changes will impact on FSim.
