I've recently installed a nVidia FX5700 Ultra card (128MB). Previously I had a GEForce Pro which was showing its age. With the older card I had no probs with jaggies but now in 2002 and 9 I just can't get them to smooth out. It's OK in spot view but in 2D and VC its like looking at the edge of a saw blade. I've tried all the usual tweaks including downloading latest driver etc. Also got Direct 9 installed. I've also tried settings directly from the card and disabling the antialiasing check in both sims but I see no improvement.  I'm not sure what the correct setting level is in the card. My fps in 2002 in fantastic (35) but very poor in 9 (15). Maybe the technical spec of the card has a problem with jaggies. One last question, anyone got this card and overclocked? What will it take without burning out? Any help would be appreciated guys.

So you've turned anti-aliasing off, and can't understand why you've got jaggies?  It's because you turned anti-aliasing off.  lol

lol,

sounds simple when you say it like that! But I'm still not clear about the two issues. There is an option in the card to allow the application (I take it this means the simulator settings) to control the problem eg by checking the box in the sim, that much I do know. However I thought that if you uncheck the option in the card and set your levels for antialiasing there you would have to uncheck the box in the sim as you would maybe get some kind of conflict by controlling it at both ends so to speak. I hope I'm making sense here? No doubt you'll put me on the right path.

I set in my control panel to on and use 4x, and turn it off in FS9.

Definitely turn AA off in FS9...its a frame killer.  Let your card control everything it can. Wink
