as I am Red Green colour blind I want to know exactly what restrictions are on for being a civil pilot. I don't wanna join the military, don't like all the shouting...  Tongue
Can I get a CPL, or is it just PPL?
Thanks, Dan G

Yes it's possible, but at least in Europe (JAA) you need to pass some tests (Ishiaras or Nagels Anomaloscope)

Hi Dan!
I'm a pilot, and i can tell you that the medical licese that you need is very conscientiousness.....
As you know to work you need the commercial license, and the Class 1 medical license!
This should not let you able to fly due to your sight problem.
But you could try to obtain the Class 2 medical license, that is good just for a private license......
With this you cuold have more chanses.....becouse it's more permissive.....!
However, try to call a flight school in your country, ask for the telephone number of the LEGAL MEDICAL INSTITUTE and ask directly to them!!
It's the best way!!
Good luck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thank God for let me fly!
