I just purchased flight simulator 2004, and my goodness trim sucks. I'm trying to take the private pilot checkride and  maybe I'm wrong, but I don't think it should take 25 presses of the down trim button to get the nose to come down and stay level. I seem to remember it being a lot easier in previous versions of flight sim.

It's not as if I can use the throttle either because I'm not up to speed at 2000 feet yet, so I steel need max throttle on the cessna to get up to speed.

go into your buttons/keys assignment settings and move the slider in the repeat rate column.  You'll want to tinker with it as the highest setting can make trim over-reactive on some a/c.

Cheers,
Dave

I programmed two stick buttons on TM A/B, one down, one up.  Works well.
Sim is numb to a/c response by feel.  Seen on instruments only. Don't have FF stick so don't know if that would help

Also, don't expect to pass the checkrides without a migraine and an ulcer.  They are, as always, full of bugs.
