~S~ all,

I am currently working on some fantasy scenery for cfs1 involving a high altitude landing platform suspended from a number of zeppelins.

I've been using FSSC, EOD and BMP2000 and have managed to build the platform, harden the surfaces of the platform to create landing strips, place it at the required altitude, etc.

However, I am unable to define satisfactory start points for the scenery. In FSSC, the default  for designated starting points is the altitude of the terrain, whereas my platform is some 20,000ft above this...

I am unable to place runways at this altitude as well - which would have provided me with a method for giving players a place to start on the platform, rather than requiring them to fly to it.

Any thoughts/suggestions?

Thanks in advance,

Pads

Hi Pads. Try MW's MkAFD. http://www.mnwright.btinternet.co.uk/programs/tools.htm#MkAFD
It works as a standalone utility.

Hi Hagar,

Doh! Of course! -I actually have that program already along with Martin's cfsClass and so on, but had forgotten all about it.

Thanks for the assist, H.

Hope to be able to help you out some day.

Cheers,

Pads

LOL Don't thank me until you prove it's successful. 20,000 feet. Shocked
I never tried it with anything at that altitude. Wink

Heh, heh...

You got that right...  Wink

MkAFD will allow you to create starting points as high as 10000 ft, so it's still not ideal.

Maybe they'll just have to fly up there after all!  Grin

Cheers,

Think I've found a way to do this.

I simply made a new scenery positioned at the precise altitude and position of the landing platform and created an invisible runway to allow for the creation of an entry point. Seems to work, though I'm still testing it so we'll see... Wink

I don't know what will happen in multiplayer yet, but at least now it's possible to cfo to the runways.

Cheers,

pads
