Your response is almost laughable!
If you have bothered to read the multitude of recent posts about the subject on all the flight sim sites (including  recent threads here) you would know beyond  any doubt that the so called "update" (3.8 drivers) did nothing really to fix the problem!

You don`t happen to work for ATI do you?
MS perhaps?
Wink

I`m sorry if I sound a bit harsh but , I`m (along with everyone else with the problem) growing a bit weary about how  people (ATI and MS included) seem to try to convince everyone the problem either does not exist or, the  ignorant  user didn`t bother to update drivers!

I will maintain my sense of humor.  Smiley

rjorgensen9,

Welcome to SimV.

Unfortunatley, the new drivers from ATI do NOT fix it.  We all sincerely HOPED and believed that they would.  And on my machine they slowed my framerates about 1-3 FPS to boot.

See the other recent threads on this ATI and driver subject..... and all the ATI (and NVidea) threads all the way back to the release date of ACOF.

Neither ATI nor Nvidea come off "smelling like a rose" with running FS2004.  So does that therefore then make it a MICROSOFT issue?  Who knows.

But thanks for the "heads up" anyway  Smiley.  It would have been nice if it actually DID fix it....and we didn't already know about it.

This is an ongoing problem that is taking WAY too long for ATI to deal with.

best,

.................john

Sorry Joe D.  No, I do not work for either of the two places you mentioned nor have I ever.  I am a retired person and only passed on  the "POSSIBLE" fix.  Maybe you should go back to FS3 then you would really like what you have even though it is not perfect but then again what is.

I am retired from ATC and see some bad mistakes (ATC)in FS but I just press on and enjoy what I have because I remember FS3.

Relax Joe and enjoy life.

Retired in the sub tropic (southern Mexico), fishing, growing roses and enjoying life as it is offered to me.

I thought I made it clear that I was annoyed at ATI and MS not at you who simply repeted what that they repetedly have said. Smiley

Believe it or not, I`m close to retierment age myself and have learned long ago not to take life so seriously.
My first experience with flight sims were on the C-64 and  I`m fully aware of the advancements FS have made

However, I have also lost a bit of tolerance to corruption and  this woud include buisnesses that have less than honest buisness practices.
The fact that both ATI and MS claim publicy that this problem doesn`t exist is nothing but a deliberat lie as over 99.9 percent of people with newer ATI cards have this problem and surely they must be aware of it.

With that in mind, I`m reminded of the theory that promotes : "If you`re not part of the solution, you are part of the problem ".

I`ve also learned that there is a time and place for everything.
Hey, this is a flight sim fourm where this a main toipic of discussion, it not here, where?

Yes, there are many great improvement in ACOF but, does this excuse ATI and/or MS lying?
I think not.
Let`s not forget that if someone says something that they know isn`t the truth, they are lying. There is no way around this! Shall we all excuse this and by doing so, promote this behaviour? I think not.

Anyway, allow me to offer my welcome to the board. Smiley
