For CFS1 I have 5 outstanding examples.

Alain L'Homme's Spitfire Mk II, P-51D (Big Beautiful Doll & Jumpin' Jaques) & F4U-5NLR Corsair. (Not fully animated but incredible modelling for something created in 1998 )
Pentti Kurkinen's Bf 109 G-14 pack. http://www.simviation.com/cfs1aircraft9.htm
Patrick Didier's Fw 190. http://www.simviation.com/cfs1aircraft7.htm

Anything by the above designers is worth a look. There are many others that come a close second.  Wink

For CFS1 I like the looks of Eric of AOL and Barrie Rody's PZL P-7 and P-11 series of aircraft.  Visually their fantastic looking!!

There was some really fine work being done for CFS1 just befor CFS2 was released.  Once CFS2 came out it was like all work on CFS1 just stopped(!) as designers jumped ship to CFS2.  Every once in a while a new CFS1 aircraft is released but they're few and far between.

If your looking for some fine repaints for CFS1 that span from the 1930's to present day check out the "Die Staffel" website.  I think you'll be very pleased.
