I'm kind of new to AFCAD and TTools, too. But I've had really good luck so far with adding tracks and aircraft, and makeing room for them at the airports I've modified. But, I ran into a problem, that I'm not sure about. I've added a C-5 Galaxy and flight plan from KRNO to KSUU. The flight starts OK, but when ATC starts to give the C-5 vectors for landing at KSUU, it will execute some of the instructions, then dives to 4,000 ft. and then gains speed and climbs out over San Francisco and then out across the Pacific, and dosen't turn back. I've made sure there's the correct size gates, and that there's enough open. I've checked the flight plan, too.

Am I missing something?

Bear in mind that AI aircraft are all about looks only.

Change the cfg and air files with suitable editing so everything matches for the ones from the default 747 and it will work for sure - because the prog will THINK it's a 747 but you'll see the C-5

That's the easy way to solve most AI fde problems
