since it is looking ever more likely i will be going to the states this summer to get my PPL, a number of the schools i have enquired to tell me to prepair for my written exam(s) while at home. but none actually have replied with what needs to be revised. i have feeling it would be alot differant to the UK exams and so i was wondering if there is anyone who can perhaps give me some ideas for suggested reading and what else i need to make sure i know about before going over there. this perhaps might be one for brad to answer, but anyone else who knows, i would be very grateful
thanks

Well Craig, safety is the upmost concern. I always reccomend studying safety. Other stuff to study is terms. There are good programs out there for Palm Pilot, which are good to use.

There are several items for preparation. But most of these you will receive through your training program. So, unless you want to pre-purchase them... I would just hold out.

Hmmm... in order to the written exam, you need ground school or at least a self study course. You can get the Jeppesen ground school kit which comes with everything or you can get an interactive CD-ROM set that allows you to study on your PC (personally, if you were to get the CD-ROM set... get the one manufactured by Sporty's
www.sportys.com
. Don't get the one by John & Martha King... if you thought they were boring in the FS videos, wait until you get a taste of a FULL length video).

Not a problem... I always try to help when I can. So, what part of the states you plan on coming to for the training (or school name)?
