It's great to hear that you folks are enjoying using ArrCab and my carrier sceneries as much as I am!

Ballam:  There isn't much to go on in your message about not being able to use the cables.  If you can use the catapult then we know you must be on a boat that has a cable catch zone, so that's a start.

I can only think of two possibilities aside from the possibility that you're simply missing the catch zone on landing:    1) Maybe the sound that gets played on cable catch is soaking up so much cpu time that the deceleration algorithm never has a chance to work (this sometimes happens to me in multiplayer games when someone is flying an aircraft that dramatically reduces frame rates) --> diagnostic = do you hear the cable catch sound but just don't slow down?     2) Have you tried it with different aircraft?  Maybe your aircraft's design center point is above the cable catch zone height.  Diagnostic = put yourself in one of the default aircraft, preferably something FAST, at the rear end of the boat, with parking brakes set.  Then go to full power, wait a moment for spin up, then release the brakes.  If you can get up to about 30 knots by the time you're within the cable catch zone, it should catch.  If it catches, then either use a different aircraft or alter your .dat file to increase the height of your cable catch zones (but not by much - see docs for discussion).

Geuss I should jump in here and say my thanks for the work. My Arrcab came with Flight Deck III for FS2k2 & 2k4, and they have worked very well and im getting the hang of it.

One question I dont seem to find an answer to though is, well,..........when Im flying in some areas I'll get a "nearest cables message" indicating carriers other than those supplied with Flight Deck3.
One came up off the coast of California, another in Hawaii, and also in some other locations.
The carriers have also different designations than the CVN73, there's CVN72(near San Diego) and I've also seen CVN63 come up(says in Honolulu)
Trouble is I cannot find the carriers, I've flown all over the areas when I get these messages, and still I cannot locate them.
Then I checked the ArrCab dialog box as it & FS is running and according to it there are 27 cable zones. Shocked
Is there anyone who knows the location of these? I cant find anyting anywhere to give the exact locations of these "other Carriers".

have you tried choosing an airport, then selecting the add-on scenery button in the lower right hand corner? I just realized that this buttong was there the other night and there are several carriers listed in my lsit of add-on scenery..

sadly though I don't have any cables or catapults yet...someday when the money comes rolling in..Smiley
