Apologies if this has been asked elsewhere but I am desperate for help as I can't play FSX at all now.

I uninstalled FSX with Acceleration and formatted the old drive with my operating system on it.
Reinstalled Windows 7 Professional on a new SSD then installed FSX with Acceleration back on to the formatted drive.

Now when I try and start FSX it crashes saying there has been a fatal error and Windows is looking online for a solution........nothing happens after that and FSX closes.

I have read various posts on microsofts help site about deleting dll files but I am not that proficient and was wondering if someone knows of a solution to this and can post a step by step guide so I can play my flight sim again.

Thanks in desperate hope

It all sounds familiar what you describe. You might want to try this.

Download Microsoft Fix it portable.

go.microsoft.com/?linkid=9775982

Save it and run the program. Have it uninstall Acceleration first and FSX after. Restart your computer. Re-install FSX and Acceleration.

It should work. It did for me.

Carlo.

just a quick idea: do a virus check/adware check then turn UAC off.

Run fsx and see if it starts then, if it does, set the fsx.exe to run as Administrator and turn UAC back on again.

To set for administrator, right click on the FSX shortcut and select properties, click on Advanced and tick 'Run as Administrator' then OK back out.

Don't install fsx in program files(86). Try C:\microsoft games\FSX or something similar.

If none of this works then post the link here to the microsoft guide and I'll do you a  .bat file script to rename those files for you - or just simply navigate to the files concerned - left click then right click on them and rename them such as thisdll.dll to thisdlldll.bac
You can also left click and press F2 to rename them. I'd prefer to rename them first.

regards

Steve

So far my number of landings either passenger or pilot equal my number of takeoffs, but that is due to change Smiley
