Identify this Aircraft ??
Wondering if anybody could Identify this Aircraft , by the markings what little bit ya can see of it and make out.
I can tell ya this much the photo was taken in 1961 - thus, it could be a Propliner or a Jetliner.
I'm thinking maybe a DC-6 or DC-4 series,
looking at the windows, anyway
I can't tell by the lettering who to identify it with,, as far as the livery ???
The story was on CNN's web page this morning, but this was the only photo
Anybody have any ideas on which aircraft and which livery it belongs ??
Something about "FAB" something down the sides, and I believe I see the words Golden , maybe Golden Fabulous Jet something ????
sure would be intersting .

It could be an Eastern Airlines DC-8, nicknamed the Golden Falcon.

Google images suggest that is the answer. The "FL" you can see on the fuselage going out of screen says either:
"Fly Eastern's Golden Falcon Jet" / "Fly Eastern" / "Fly Eastern Airlines"

I just did some very fast research, Webb pretty much got it right. But whether it's a DC-8 is questionable.

Eastern must have just liked the name "Golden Falcon".

WOW, you guys are Great !
I have no idea myself really, but all your answers seem right on Target.
I was trying to research it, but was interuppted with a phone call about my Father, who's Dying of Leiukema, as to his condition, whos in the hospital right now.
My Father was a Private Pilot for 53 years, started when he was young, my 2 car gargage - 1 whole side of it is now packed with so much Aviation memborlia, photos, books, trinkets, you name it, it'll take me many months to go thru all of it, tho I do have a plane that was signed by Former Test Pilot Chuck Yeager, givin to my Dad years ago, on my fireplace mantel,, everything else is in Boxes, photos of my dad and patty wagstaff and many other Aviators from Decades past and trinkets , the Entire Airplane Hanger that my Father had is basically sitting in my Garage, minus the Airplane of course !
On top of that my Beautiful Husky Dog, came down with Diabetes and is slowly getting better,,
man, when it rains it pours I need an Umbrella !
Thanks for the Answers everybody, I think you all are right on Target !

I CAN SAY FOR SURE THAT THIS IS A GOLDEN FALCON DC-8 JET OF EASTERN AIRLINES. BOTH MY FATHER AND I WORKED FOR EASTERN. MY DAD STARTED IN 1958 AND I STARTED IN 1984. AS A CHILD I FLEW ON THE DC-8 BETWEEN JFK AND BERMUDA AND MIA AND SJU MANY TIMES. I SAY IT IS A DC-8 BECAUSE YOU CAN JUST SEE THE REVERSERS OF ONE OF THE ENGINES AT THE BOTTOM OF THE PLANES BODY. EASTERN DIDNT FLY THE 707. THEY HAD A VERSION CALLED THE BOEING 720.THOSE WERE THE GOLDEN DAYS OF FLYING. PEOPLE DRESSED UP THEY HAD REAL CHINA AND SILVERWARE AND YOU GOT A REAL MEAL EVEN ON A SHORT HAUL LIKE DCA TO BOS. I MISS THOSE DAYS. WHEN I STARTED IN 84 FRANK BORMAN WAS PRESIDENT OF EASTERN AND IN 86 THE NEW FRANK TOOK OVER. THATS LORENZO FOR ANYONE WHO CARES. HE SOLD OFF EVEYTHING THAT MADE MONEY JUST TO PISS OFF THE UNIONS. READ THE BOOK GROUNDED-FRANK LORENZO AND THE DESTRUCTION OF EASTERN AIRLINES. IT WILL EXPLAIN EVERYTHING THAT TOOK PLACE. SORRY FOR RAMBLING ON BUT I HAVE ALOT OF FOND MEMORIES WITH EASTERN.......

Well, I finally found a few hours to Escape all the Chaos happinin around me lately.
I managed to come up with the Douglas DC8 - Golden Falcon Jetliner / Easterns.
heres a few Screen Shots,, nothin really great tho.
But, evidently it was Easterns DC 8 / Golden Falcon livery , from the early 1960's era !
Forum member,"Webb" was right !
See old photo !
