Hello all,

I was reviewing my aircrafts in fsx yesterday by opening the windows explorer Sad, and discovered two planes called Maule_267c and Maule_267c_sky. these 2 planes are all complete, I mean they look to have all necessary files, but does not appear in the list of available aircrafts or Helicopters. from some search in the FSX part of the simviation web sites, these planes  seem to be part of the defaults set of FSX planes. So what is the trouble ? When searching for Maule in FSX, all or mosr of the result refer to a default plane. so I guess it should appear in the list.

Are you running Gold or Delux expansion packs?

Hello,

its is FSX with acceleration pack, that's all. I did some s comparisons with similar planes with strange file extension in the texture directory(somethng like .dds or so),but could not find any evidence of a missing thing.

Which version of FSX? The Maule is an unflyable AI Only aircraft in FSX Standard edition. It's for use as AI traffic.

.dds is the FSX default aircraft texture format. AI Only aircraft will not usually have a Panel folder.

Presumably you have selected Maule in the aircraft manufacture drop down menu?

I sometime miss an aircraft while searching only to find it's there if I select the maker.

Or
leave manufacture at 'All' and select aircraft type to single engine Prop, either methiod should give you the maule.

Double check the panel folders and contents are there.
If the 260C panel is missing the 260c ski won't appear either.
Below are the contents of my panel folder

182S_compass.BMP
Cessna_182_Panel_Decals.bmp
maule_background_landing.bmp
maule_background_landing_night.bmp
maule_background_main.bmp
maule_background_main_night.bmp
Maule_Gauge_Backgrounds_1.bmp
Maule_Gauge_Backgrounds_2.bmp
Maule_M7_260C.cab
Minipanel_maule.bmp

May the Mynd be with you.
So far my number of landings either passenger or pilot equal my number of takeoffs, but that is due to change Smiley

Hi again,

After double check, The panel folder does not contain any bmp files, only the .cab, so let's forget about this Maule. I have plenty of others props to fly with. I am just a bit pissed off by Microsoft about the way they "catgorize" customers by those who have or have not. Angry

The versions were improved over time and more aircraft added. If you have the correct version that includes the Maule, do a repair of FSX using the original disks. It will replace any missing files from your default aircraft.

Take Care,
Brett
