...I could keep the same distance from the Sun all the year round...
...!
It was -2 Degrees C, with a Frost, in my back garden this morning, and its only going to get colder as each day passes, for the next 3 Months, or more!
I'm dreading the approaching Winter, and the enormous fuel bills which accompany it!
At least 6-9 Months of every year are spent huddled-up, trying to shield myself from the cold!
I need the Sun following me around, at the same distance from me, everywhere I go...
...Please...!
I fancied a nice ride-out on my Motor-bike today, but its far too bloody cold to go outside!...
...!
Paul...I HATE the cold, with a vengeance!...
....!
...must keep smiling!...
...

Phase II...
The weather had got a bit warmer by early afternoon (2:00 PM).
It reached a staggering 10 degrees C, so with a clear blue sky, and brilliant sunshine, I donned my thermal underwear, wheeled out my trusty steed (Yamaha RX-S 100), topped up my fuel tank with £3:00 of petrol, and proceeded to fly around the Herefordshire Countryside with a wide grin on my face, and a wave from fellow Motorcyclists!
By the time I returned, 3 hours later, the temperature had increased to a balmy 12 degrees C!
What a fantabulous trip...
...!
Paul....still grinning...(that's what the Sun does for me!)

Oh no... Science conundrum!
We are closest to the sun during our winter, but furthest away during the summer (I guess you probably knew that already with the cold weather
)
Unfortunately we're tilting away as we get closer, which means we get a lot of lovely blue skies, but horribly cold feet in the morning.

It all depends on the clothes wearing at the right time, and now the Sea Trouts are coming near the beaches
Over here in England, most of we Oldies die of cold in the Winter, (rather than falling off Motorbikes), mainly due to the high cost of fuel bills, desperately trying to keep warm and alive!
When you reach my age you will be glad of a bit of warmth....
...even a cuddle is a rarity!

Pablo the temperature in general has nothing to do wit the
variable distance between the sun and the earth
(even the 8 planets) not even in Mercury without atmosphere
blame the 23 degrere earth inclination towards the sun However is not the only fact either ,blame the heat of the sun who's responsible for every single tornado storm hurricane etc

Alex, I don't care what they do on Mercury, or which way the Earth is tilting, I just want to sit in my back garden and be basked by the warmth of the Sun, for most/all of the year.
Paul...Like Butterflies, I need Warmth!...

Almost sunny South Florida (almost sunny = we've had a lot of extra rain this year), with year round temps of, uhh, well, better not say, I might get banned from this site.
But hey, it wasn't always like this. I remember good ol' Phys Ed back in the early 60's, if you could see at least 5 feet in front of your face in the early morning freezing fog, out we went in our gym duds. No wimps, our coaches, and no calls from parents saying, "Hey, whatcha tryin' to do to my kid there?!?"
Well, I'm sure that makes you feel better about everything now. I await my punishment.
