I don't mind admitting that I remember it too. I was 19 in 1962.
'Love Me Do' wasn't a big hit & I didn't care for the Beatles at the time. I would later become one of their biggest fans.

50 years ago today (when Olivia Newton John was 14) EMI Parlophone released The Beatles' first single, Love Me Do.

The sleeve in your image is actually the US version released on the Tollie label on April 27, 1964.
http://thebeatles-collection.com/wordpress/author/zorkos/page/43/Until then 'Love Me Do' was only available in the US as an import.
In the 60s most British single records were sold in a plain paper sleeve with a hole in the centre through which you could read the label. Only EPs & LPs had outer sleeves with images on them. This is the original Parlophone sleeve of Love Me Do. It's recently been re-issued as a special very limited edition.
