RANCID CHEESE, WET DOG, BURNING
RUBBER, SOUR MILK, (FRESH OIL) SWEET,
MILD IRRITATION TO EYES;
Check the APU, Left and Right Engine for Oil
Contamination, Check the Cooling Packs for
Oil Contamination, Check the Ozone
Converter for odor, If present, work
upstream to find the source of the
contamination;
HYDRAULIC FLUID,STRONG IRRITATION TO EYES, PUNGENT, ACRID;
Check the Hydraulic Reservoir
Pressurization Module tubing and Check
Valves for Hydraulic Oil Residue. Check
hydraulic system for overservicing
condition;
FUEL (BURNED FUEL) KEROSENE, (UNBURNED
FUEL) ACRID, BITTER
Check the engines as cause of Oil/Fuel
Fumes/Smoke in Cabin (FIM 71-05)
ELECTRICAL FAULTS ACRID, BURNING RUBBER, SULFUR; Check the Cabin Equipment, Check
Recirculation Fans and Cargo
Compartments, Check Light Ballasts and
Galley Equipment.
OTHER: COOKED CHICKEN (BIRD STRIKE),
The aircraft had had a bird strike that entered the compressor. It was boroscoped and released. Next flight, roast chicken. So the only way around this problem, a high power ground run. So we sat for 10 minutes or so smelling like Fozzer's kitchen on a Sunday........
