I suppose this could have gone in the humor section as well.
NHS Health And Safety Chiefs Ban ‘Dangerous’ Metal Paper Clips
Quote:
The clips have been banned from the city’s GP surgeries, clinics and offices in favour of a plastic alternative.
However, a member of staff told the Manchester Evening News: ‘It is ridiculous. They’re vaguely sharp, like drawing pins and fountain pens. ‘I can only assume top brass think that they’ve employed idiots who need nannying through the working day.’
Another added:
‘We should just be lucky the safety memo didn’t run to two pages, that might have proved a bit tricky.’

Meanwhile where I work:
Someone was able to draw blood from my arm in an epic whipping fight with cotton napkins. I should mention, there are several thousand napkins and many thousands of pieces of cutlery in that place. Lets ban them all!
Oh, I cut my hand on some broken ceramic too... Lets get rid of the thousands of plates, bowls, cups and saucers which we have there
On multiple occassions, I also pricked myself on some broken glass - Good thing we don't have thousands of glasses, or metal foils on the wine bottles (those suck to get cut with).
Don't get me started on the colleague who accidently cut his hand when he slipped with a knife. You wouldn't want to ban those!
Yeah. I think my point is quite clear. My hip is badly bruised from that towel fight though

Just like some people I know, you could lock them in a padded room with a ball bearing. Come back 5 minutes later, and the ball bearing would be broken and they would be missing a limb.

Further to the memo, all future operations will be performed with blunt paper scissors just in case the surgeon slips and cuts himself
