I desperately need to remove the Carburettor from my motor bike, clean it, clear out the jets, and set the Float height, ('coz its flooding)....
..but with all this rain, its far too wet outside to wheel the bike out of my house to do the job in the front driveway!

So, it looks like yet another day of sitting at my computer, (pretending to fly aeroplanes), and looking at the sky, and waiting for a break in the weather, whilst my Carburettor slowly drips petrol over my carpet!

Rain....please stop, so I can get the job done!.. Cry..!

Paul... Grin... Grin...!

My Petrol-dripping little bike: Yamaha RX-S 100.

A classic example of the similarity between Motorcyclists and Aircraft Pilots.....WEATHER!!

Complaining about the rain where you are, Paul? Come on over to this side of the pond!

In the last 60 days we've had seven that have been below 80°. Most of the time it's been in the mid to upper 90's, with five straight days over 100°! We are experiencing the worst drought conditions in the last 25 years, and in June we were the warmest State in the Union.

Corn's dying, hay prices through the roof... send the rain West, Paul!!

wait Pablo let me get this straight ,Too much rain won't allow you to remove the two screws behind the seat and the filter hose ???

Unless you adapted one of this into your Honda 500 cc

Use paint solvent or if you find carburator clean spray (Both are the same thing) Its the best to clean carburetors I do it all the time  Wink

When its raining, and I have to wheel my Bikes outside to work on them, I get wet....
..and I HATE getting wet...I go all "crinkly"!... Grin... Grin...!

I've been fiddling with all my various Motor Bikes and vintage Motor Cars, over the past 62 years, so I've got used to it now...

...providing I am NOT outside when its raining!... Grin...!

Rain make me Wet and unhappy!

Paul... Grin... Grin...!

The snag with small engines with small Carburettors, is that the Jet holes/Float Valve are extremely small, and easy blocked, with any debris (and varnish build-up when left standing for some time), that passes the Petrol Filters.
This little Yamaha Bike had been standing unused for 15+ years in my house, so its Carb needed a good clean with solvent, and all the jets cleared, etc..
She is running as sweet as a nut now!... Kiss...!

..but its started to bloody rain again!

... Grin...!

Nothin' like a good-ole-fashioned frog-strangler of a downpour!  I've been doing extra work for my dad's neighbor trying to solve his gutter problems on his house and garage.  I opened up a can of worms agreeing to do the work as I've basically rebuilt two walls of his garage that rotted from all the water damage caused by the faulty gutters.  I too curse the rain, Foz. Tongue Sad
