Thanks to XFalcon750 for giving us the heads up on this awesome freeware Basler BT-67 by Manfred Jahn  and team. I noticed that it showed up on the SimV site today:
Basler BT-67

This is a very well done aircraft all around Cool Cool
...

I love this livery........but hopefully someone will do a Kenn Borek Air livery for it Wink
...

What a beauty....I guess the old saying is true. The only plane that can replace the DC-3 is the DC-3 Wink
...

Dumpin' some excess fuel before making my approach.
...

Givin' the snowcat operator a story to tell when he gets home Cheesy
...

About to set 'er down....Also, the skis are adjustable (Doug) so that you can pull 'em up after parking Cool
...
Thanks 4 looking Smiley

"Oh! I have slipped the surly bonds of Earth and danced the skies on laughter silvered wings. Sunward I've climbed and joined the tumbling mirth of sun split clouds.....and done a hundred things you have never dreamed of.....wheeled and soared and swung high in the sunlit silence. Hovering there, I've chased the shouting wind along and flung my eager craft through footless halls of air.

Up, up the long, delerious, burning blue I've topped the wind swept heights with easy grace where never Lark, nor even Eagle flew. While with silent lifting of mind I've trod the high untrespassed sanctity of space, put out my hand and touched the face of god"

Great shots Chuck!  You beat me to this!  I D/L'd this beauty last nite and before I knew it twas like 4am and time to drag my backside to bed.

The only thing I didn't like about it was the sound...aliased to the KingAir.  I changed that (thanx to learning how to do that sorta thing from the smart folks around here) to alias one of my P-38s.  Although I may hafta change that to maybe the Convair 580 or somethin' similar.  The Lightning soundset is just a little too over the top.

The KingAir alias just seemed a little small-ish of a package for this awesome bird.

I love the smell of radials in the morning!

purchased the recommended twin otter sound pack from sonic solutions but i wonder if the dc 3 would require larger turbo prop engines with a little fuller sound......there must be some larger turbo prop planes, one could alias the sounds too ....any experts here?
kind of a shock to hear our beloved dc-3 sound like a nitro r/c plane...
how about the viscount turbo prop?....oops i just discovered it's aliased to the beech king-air 350     let me know if i'm missing something here....thanks..

intel i7 950.....asus p6t delux v2....asus gtx 285......raptor 150g...raptor300g (fsx)......liquid cooled cpu cooler.....6gb corsair 1600-777........windows 7......antec 900 case.....

Wonderful set Chuck...very nice... Wink

You knew I would ask about the skis... Grin

I think all the ski aircraft I flew had ski settings for several reasons and one being braking.

Ski Settings
Up...wheel only landing
1/4 ski
1/2 ski
3/4 ski
Full ski...ski only landing

Full ski was quite useful for checking out lakes, to set caches for use when the ice broke up or melted.

Would approach the lake with Full Ski and do a power on touch down and run for the length required for a take off.

Could get quite rough and bumpy... Grin

Take off and do a circuit.

Second Approach...low and slow...Precautionary Approach...

If you see any dark spots where your Full Ski touch and go was then don't land...probably water or ice just not safe enough to land... Smiley

I am wondering how many settings there are for the skis on this simulated turbo DC3 Chuck?

I am also wondering Chuck, if your aircraft disappears through the ice does it come out the back of your monitor with water?    Huh      Roll Eyes      Lips Sealed       Grin

Cheers...Happy Landings...Doug

That's correct.......better than no adjustment though Wink
