hello to everyone:

I have stated this before but just humor me  for now; ok?? thanks

I got a question, on my old computer I got my old jets I like and I want to put them onto my fsx gold edition on w7 ( oh by the way the box does not say anything working in w7 says windows vista and xp but not w7) how would i do that on a flash drive or a external hard drive then to the desk top. what about missing dependencies that I can not get if any how can i get them back I know i will some dependencies. yeah I shuld know I play trainz simulator 06 and any thing saved on a flash drive or external hard drive and come back later and to retreive it you will have missing dependencies looking is just half of the battle. so   I'll put the gold edidtion on w7 and see what happens even though it does not say w7.or unless someone can say  that it will work in w7.  just humor me on this  one ok.

might need to ask a favor of getting my jets onto my new flight simulator on a different computer. I suppose w7 is not going to be that easy to set up the jets into the game but I will give a shot. xp was a little easier to move plane files around within the fsx game folder system.

I have Win7 and have no problems moving/copying/pasting add-on aircraft.  I used to "kill" FSX Acceleration on a regular basis, usually by doing some sorta modification to something thinking I knew enough to accomplish it but finding out I wernt as smart as I thought. Cry

I had all of my add-ons, like aircraft and scenery, backed up on an external harddrive, so each time I had to fix FSX it was just a simple copy & paste to replace all I had screwed up.

I don't know of the dependencies you refer to, but installing and/or replacing aircraft is quite simple.

There should be a tutorial somewhere in the forum stickies that should help ya out if need be.  I can't recall exactly where but if you look around you should be able to find 'em.

I even discovered the last time I screwed something up that the entire SimObjects folder can be 'transplanted' in one fell swoop.  Takes a goodly while for that to accomplish though.....like better than an hour or so.

Once you do one the rest, you'll probably find, should be pretty easy.

Trust me, if I can do it, anyone can! Cheesy  I was a total noob before I learned a lot from the smart folks around here.

Now I'm like a partial noob! Smiley

Just copy the Simobjects folder to your desktop or documents, then install FSX Gold. Paste the Simobjects folder back where it was after you have installed FSX Gold.

P.S. (Hagar, your probably going to say he shouldn't do this but it does work.)

I don't mean to sound evil but you don't seem to be listening.

Three different people have told you it works in Windows 7 & I can assure you that it does.

Aside from the Simobject/aircraft, don't forget your Gauges, Effects, and Sound folders too.  Nothing says "Oops!" like a pannel with no gauges.
