Took a joyride with my STOL Lysander around Guernsey Island. Great flight!

Wow, GREAT shots! What is the bird and the scenery?
Reminds me of the movie "The Eagle has Landed" Grin

The aircraft is the FSaddon Lysander, scenery is Guernsey by Earth Simulation (small company, super high quality stuff, I highly recommend them).

And it's funny you say it reminds you of "The eagle has landed" since Earth Sim also makes a scenery of Alderney  Wink

Really nice to see an FS Lysander! Smiley

Guernsey is different to England though! The Lizzie pilot's brave too - being only a stones throw from the Normandy coast, and quite a lot further from the English coast, for the unfortunate population, the Nazis moved in for the duration of the war...

Nice set (well, both of them!) Smiley

Thanks for the comments! Also, thank you C for correcting me, I totally thought Guernsey was part of British territory. I now stand corrected  Wink It's also nice to see someone else who enjoys the Lizzie. Have you ever read "We landed by moonlight" by Hugh Verity? Harrowing flights and very informative book.

Wow great series!  Perfect choice of plane and scenery.  I love the detail in number 1 with the garden and bench.   Shocked

"We landed by Moonlight" is a cracking read; sadly Hugh Verity died a decade ago - I read it just before he died, and there are very few surviving Lysander pilots left (certainly the Special Duties ones).

Such a clever aeroplane. Smiley There was one derivative in which some mad Brit (you know what we're like!) stuck twin fins on it to fit a tail turret! Grin
