Hello,

I'm currently running FSX on a Core i-3 2.93g with 6g/RAM...performance is OK,  but can be sluggish at times.. my question is; would upgrading the CPU to an Ivy bridge core i-7 3.4ghz make THAT much of a difference in performance?

I'm running an i3 chip with eight gigs of memory and I have a completely smooth experience.

Questions:

Have you used NickN's windows tweak to optimize CPU cycly usagae and memory usage?  This will not only make FSX run and look better, but will make all of your computing faster and smoother.

What type of HD do you use?  IDE, SATA, Solid State, perhaps?

Suggestions:

Give all of your system specs.  MOBO, Memory, Hard Drives and such.

I will be glad to help in my small way as I can.  Just keep this thread going and we will get you flying smoothly.  Eventually.

Hi Unkie here's my specs:

2.93GHz Intel Core i3 530 Quad core
Memory      6GB DDR3 SDRAM
Hard drives      1TB, 7,200rpm Serial ATA Western Digital HD

I "upgraded" the video card to a GeForce 210

I rolled all of the graphics settings back in FSX and I average   18-24 FPS..

Any tweaks would help
