I've decided I want to buy a F-15 add-on, but I cannot come to a decision between the Iris F-15 or the Milviz F-15! I think it would be fun to mess around with the air to air capabilities of the Milviz, but that isn't a major deciding factor for me. As for the Iris, I trust Iris as high quality add-on, but I know nothing of the history MilViz.
Any opinions on which one is better overall?

My problem exactly............looking forward to hearing from owners of these two aircraft models
I'm dubious of Iris products since the Spartan (which has since been patched and most of it's issues were fixed).
But the wait was long and sufferable while my Spartan could not climb over 20,000 feet. Meanwhile, instead of addressing the Spartan's issues, they chose to ignore them (and us) while they finished off their next profitable venture.........oops, I'm ranting
(Clears mind of negative thoughts).........Anyway, I've been going back and forth on this one too......Iris or Milviz???????
"Oh! I have slipped the surly bonds of Earth and danced the skies on laughter silvered wings. Sunward I've climbed and joined the tumbling mirth of sun split clouds.....and done a hundred things you have never dreamed of.....wheeled and soared and swung high in the sunlit silence. Hovering there, I've chased the shouting wind along and flung my eager craft through footless halls of air.
Up, up the long, delerious, burning blue I've topped the wind swept heights with easy grace where never Lark, nor even Eagle flew. While with silent lifting of mind I've trod the high untrespassed sanctity of space, put out my hand and touched the face of god"

I haven't flown the MilViz at all, but it does look pretty good. I do have the IRIS F15, and it's extremity detailed, and sounds, and weapons systems...ect. RAZBAM has now hooked up with IRIS so you can select your own load out and what you want to fly. You can bomb anything you want, and shoot at anything you want. I have some bombing pics on here somewhere of the IRIS 15... Even includes a great fictional paint of my 391st boys

Well I decided to go with the Iris a few days ago knowing I wouldn't be disappointed, and I was right. That thing is just awesome. It's well worth the money if you ask me. I still know nothing about the MilViz, but I'm definitely enjoying the Iris F-15E.
Anybody have else have an opinion they'd like to share?

I do not have either one, but going by what I see in this forum and others... the Iris F-15 seems to be the more popular one. And for me I'd judge it by previous Iris models which I do have in the A-10 and the F-22, both are fantastic. So I'd expect the F-15 to be just as good, if not better.
My specs... A hard drive, motherboard, graphics card, some memory, a keyboard, mouse, and monitor - in other words, nothing special.

I only have the IRIS F15. When I bought it I knew that IRIS had great visual models and "so-so" systems/realism. I also wasn't looking to get a PMDG-style fighter jet. With that in mind I was very happy with my purchase. The aircraft looks amazing, it does what I need it to, the systems modeled are just the right blend for someone who wants to fly this beast fast without having to worry about breaking it in two seconds
So far from all the IRIS products I have, my favorite is still the A10, followed by F15, F22, Vulcan and Spartan.

I purchased the MilViz F-15E Strike Eagle for FSX back on the day it first came out and I was absolutely stunned. The detail was incredible, and it seemed like everything was perfect. Yet I found that the MilViz F-15E lacks a lot of realistic features, such as the start-up procedure; instead of manually starting the beauty, you just flick a switch that starts everything up for ya. MilViz most certainly tried to create a pretty nice Eagle, and it shows with the detail, but lacks so many important features, which caused me to purchase the Iris F-15E today. I am more than satisfied with Iris' Eagle, it literally impressed me as much as the A2A WOP3 P-51D Mustang w/Accu-Sim and Accu-Feel did. I highly suggest purchasing the Iris F-15E Strike Eagle for FSX as it's JUST like the VRS F/A-18E Superhornet, just an F-15E Strike Eagle. It is extremely detailed, and has ALL, if not more of the features that I was looking for. In my honest opinion; Iris F-15E - Astonishing Detail & Every Possible Feature you could imagine. MilViz F-15E - Astonishing detail, but almost no features.

Huge write up on both and a locked thread or 2 on SOH, you might be able to search over there to answer your question. I fly 99.9% military and finally have an ISP to support the download of one of the Mud Hens. My virtual hangar is full of Iris products and one Milviz, that being the superb T-38A (I feel a must have for the military aviation enthusiast) . Both F-15's needed service packs, so initially I was leaning one way, but now having almost a year to decide might help. Hard to justify 2 of the same model, something I did with the F-16, owing/flying both Aerosoft and Iris versions.
Looking to buy over the weekend.

Great writeup Jake... good to hear from soneone thats had both and can give some good feedback.
Sounds like if you just wanna jump in and go flying, Milviz is for you. If you want realistic systems with procedures to follow, Iris is for you. When i can do it, im gettin the Iris bird, but thats also to do with me being more yhan datisfied with their A-10 and F-22.

Yes I agree with you completely, the VRS and realism fans should most certainly go with the Iris Eagle
Yeah, I hope their update for the Raptor turns out to be better than what's currently in the hangar! As for the A-10, I cannot comment since I do not own it. Once upon a time when there was a sale I thought about it but I'm not quite sure yet, I think I'm just going to stick with the F-15

Just as a tip to future buyers- I have the Milviz one, and have tens of hours in the IRIS one. As of 2013, the Milviz one is much more realistic. there is a realistic startup, the weapons behave realistically, it's multiplayer compatible, and it looks better (minus the afterburners). When I last flew the IRIS one, I noticed that the weapons do not track, destroy, and many other disappointing features. The MILVIZ also supports semi complete HOTAS, which is good since I just got the X52 Pro
. The Milviz F-15 is comparable to the VRS Superbug with TACPACK.
-Edit: Just to clarify, I am not a pirate, the IRIS mudhen is on a friend's computer

That's an other reason I'm happy with the Milviz, I had .dll problems (I bought it through JF, disc), contacted JF support, and within 2 days not only did they have a fix for me, they posted a bug fix on their website.
